McGettigan's Townhouse

I could walk to Dublin's main sights and didn't need public transport, and the city centre was within easy walking distance. The host was a very hospitable, friendly older man. My room was quite clean and met my expectations, with toiletries that smelled lovely and seemed very good quality. Great value for the money.

The food was amazing, and the rooms had that comfortable, home-like feel. Paul and Dave were so pleasant and seemed to be everywhere at once.

We could walk to lots of restaurants and pubs from here. Paul made us feel very welcome, and we really enjoyed staying here.

The biggest problem was the bar across the street. Our room faced it, and because the building is old, we could hear the noise into the early hours. McGettigans itself was fairly quiet, despite being the pub below us. I'd still stay again, but I'd bring better earplugs. Aside from that, it was a great stay and fairly affordable for somewhere near the action. Dave welcomed us and shared some helpful tips. The room was clean, in a safe, convenient spot, and had a few quirks, though nothing major. I wish I could give it another half star.
