Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Dublin

We stayed at the Radisson Blu in Dublin over St. Patrick’s Day weekend, when the city was at its busiest. The hotel was a calm place to come back to, while still being close enough to walk to the celebrations. Our room was modern, spotless and comfortable, with a great bed and thoughtful amenities. The soundproofing worked well, and we slept soundly both nights. Breakfast had plenty of high-quality choices, just right before a full day out. Staff were warm and professional at every turn, from check-in to housekeeping and concierge help. The hotel felt exceptionally well run, and we felt looked after. It made an ideal base for exploring Dublin. We’d gladly stay again, whether for St. Patrick’s Day or another time of year.

Parking was the main snag. Nearby Q Park is subsidised by the room rate, but if it’s full, finding a space will be difficult. Otherwise, this was a very good one-night stay. Radisson Blu is consistently reliable, the staff were helpful and friendly, and breakfast was spectacular. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and well designed, with the familiar Radisson feel. The hotel is also handy for Temple Bar and Dublin Castle.

The service really stood out, whether we were at breakfast, in the bar or speaking to reception. It was outstanding throughout. We were there for two nights over a rugby weekend and came away impressed. The location made it easy to get around Dublin, with plenty of sights and restaurants nearby. Our room was clean, with comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. It could perhaps use an update, but we’d definitely stay again.

I stay here regularly for work and always feel safe. Reception is professional, and the night manager is especially welcoming and reassuring. It’s one of my usual Dublin hotels, though after trying a few others recently, I found some offered better value. Like other Dublin hotels, this one feels overpriced. The room was modern and comfortable, with a very good bed, USB ports and sockets. There was no water in the room, and the bathroom extractor in room 540 was very loud all night, even with the lights off. Breakfast was fabulous and the location is good, about 1km from the centre. Just pay attention to which direction you walk.
