The staff were lovely, and the bathroom was clean with a good shower. Our door was knocked on several times at 8am, which felt extremely weird. The room itself had no window looking outdoors, which wasn’t a problem, but it looked onto a storage room behind a curtain. Having only a curtain for privacy felt a bit odd. There was no main light, so even with all three lights on the room was very dark and I could barely see.

The location was excellent for getting around, with public transit close by and tourist spots like Temple Bar, Trinity College and Grafton Street only a few minutes’ walk away. There are also lots of good cafes and pubs nearby. But the service was extremely disappointing. We asked to have our rooms cleaned and refreshed after the second night, and it wasn’t done. We asked again the next day, only to find it still hadn’t been done, and staff gave us pathetic excuses. We stayed four nights, and the rooms were only cleaned on the last night. It might be fine for a one or two night stay, but there are better hotels nearby for the same price.

The shared amenity rooms had free drinks and snacks, which felt generous, and between those spaces and the room, we had what we needed for a short visit. The room was small, but not unreasonably so. For the price, the place was mostly excellent. It’s centrally located, so noise could be an issue. I was lucky to get a room facing away from the street. Apart from the occasional shrieking from other residents, it was mercifully quiet, though your experience may vary. Since you’re mainly paying for a bed, mine should have been better. The mattress was squidgy and clearly needed replacing. I believe other reviewers had the same experience.

The room was small but entirely adequate, and the bathroom may have been the best I’ve had on a month of travelling around the British Isles and Ireland. It was spacious, with a shower big enough to turn around in and good pressure. Even after a shower, the mirror was still usable. The location was great, and noise didn’t bother us at all. Highly recommend.
