Temple Bar Inn

The staff and service were excellent when I left my AirPods in the room and only realized after I’d returned to the UK. I called the hotel, and a young man told me they’d found them. He clearly and quickly explained how we could work together to have them returned. I followed their process, and the AirPods came back to me in excellent condition. As an American, I’m not sure the same thing would have happened in the States. Thank you, Temple Bar Inn. I recommend your hotel without reservation.

The location puts you right in the middle of everything. I booked a week before Christmas for €89 and expected somewhere pretty basic, but the room was lovely, with a huge bed, fluffy towels and Rituals toiletries. They'd left water, crisps, a chocolate bar and a voucher for a free drink as a welcome. The reception was beautifully and tastefully decorated, with big comfy armchairs. Staff were friendly and completely professional. I didn't try the €18 buffet breakfast, so can't comment on the food. I only stayed one night, but this place was a real find and I'd definitely come back.

The room was spotless, comfortable and clearly well looked after, and the location was easy to find with good directions. I went to Charlie's for Chinese food on the recommendation of the person who took my booking, and it was beautiful. Everyone I encountered was great, from the booking call and the two people at check-in to the security staff on the way there and back, the breakfast team and the person who checked me out. Breakfast was scrumptious, and I can wholeheartedly recommend the buffet. It was terrific value for money. My stay brightened up a pretty dismal night weather-wise. The Temple Bar Inn itself was spectacular, and I wouldn't hesitate to return. If I weren't staying with friends, I'd still be there. Thank you.

The room and bathroom were tiny for what this hotel charges. They provided fans, but ventilation still wasn't enough during our stay, and having the hair dryer in the dimly lit room instead of the bathroom was annoying. The staff were extremely accommodating and polite, though some of the security staff behaved oddly. As visible minorities, we felt there was a discriminatory undertone in how we were treated. It's in the party district, so it may suit younger people who want to drink and party all night. As mature guests, we found it wasn't the right hotel for us.
