The location was great, but the price felt too high for what we got, about €115 a night for a tiny room with a double bed, TV and sink. The shared bathrooms were very clean, but there were only two showers for the whole hotel. There's a shared kitchen, though all they offered was tea and coffee. It felt more like a hostel than a B&B. Noise wasn't much of a problem, even with the window open all night over the weekend. There weren't any rooms next to ours, just a bathroom. The room and front door were locked, which felt secure, but the fire escape door stayed open for most of the day and was closed at night.

The location is superb, but it felt basically like a hostel. I paid a hefty price for the night and still had to use a shower and toilet outside my room. I wouldn't have minded that if it hadn't cost so much.

The Pillar is right in Dublin city centre, so all the sights are within walking distance. That's worth four stars for the location. Our room was really just somewhere to sleep, with a bed and a small table. The bathrooms and toilets are shared, but very clean.

€75 a night is a total rip-off for what feels like a hostel. There's no breakfast, and the room has nothing apart from street noise. I couldn't even tell who worked here, and I wouldn't recommend it if you've got luggage since there's no lift. The toilet is shared, the shower is on another floor, and people were sleeping in the reception room. Is this an illegal immigrant hideout?

It's clean and right in the city centre, but this feels like a hostel without the nice atmosphere. There was no toilet in the room, the shower was on a separate floor, and they didn't provide a towel or soap. The staff weren't very professional. There was a draft in the room, and I could clearly hear both the street and the next room.
