The staff were pleasant and attentive when we asked for things, and the meals were delicious, with hot food and cold drinks. There are several roomy elevators. We found the tram stop right outside extremely convenient for getting around Dublin. The room had climate control and a hot shower, though it was smaller than a typical American hotel room. The bathroom grout had a noticeable buildup and could use more attention in cleaning. One other note, I tried contacting the hotel a few times through the third-party portal before our stay about the booking, but couldn't reach anyone.

The room felt modern and stylish without being sterile, and the bed was so comfortable I had the best sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel. Breakfast was great too. I don’t usually choose expensive places when I travel, but hotels in Dublin were mostly at the top of my budget, so I decided to go for a good one. The Samuel sits along the regenerated docks, among modern offices, homes and hotels. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and helped me through my usual struggle with the self-service check-in. They even upgraded my room and left some nice treats. Can recommend!

The bed and room were very comfortable, the buffet breakfast was better than average, dinner was very good, and the service was excellent. Wi-Fi worked clearly and strongly throughout the hotel. It’s very convenient for the docks, with a tram stop close by, and the city centre is a 30-40 minute walk if you’d rather walk. I’ve given four stars because check-in and check-out are largely automated, and the elevator uses your card to take you straight to your floor. It felt futuristic and convenient, but also a bit isolating. I’d have liked a little more human contact, though I can see that setup appealing to business travellers.

The hotel is just steps from the Luas, which made it easy to get around Dublin, and a lovely riverside walk leads into and out of the city centre. It was quiet, with lovely spotless rooms and delicious breakfast and restaurant food. Every staff member we met was spectacular. A fabulous place to stay while in Dublin, and we’d definitely choose The Samuel again.

The location is peaceful and quiet, and I liked that it was close to the train for reaching the main attractions. But the rooms only get the bare minimum of freshening up, and ours was barely cleaned. The cleaning staff made it pretty clear they didn’t want to do it. Front desk staff were rude, barely acknowledging us at checkout, as if asking a question was too much. Parking is off site and expensive. I’d only recommend staying here for a day or two.
