Moorepark West House

For a quick, no-frills night, this was just right. The host was welcoming, and the clean, fully equipped help-yourself kitchen had friendly people around. It was easy to find. Just watch out when driving back onto the toll road, as I ended up paying two or, in my case, three times what I needed to.

My room was still being decorated, but the bed was comfortable and it worked for what I needed. There’s a well-equipped kitchen, and breakfast food is in the fridge if you’re able to make it yourself. It’s a relaxing place, a little out of the way but not far from Cork. Worth a stay.

The kitchen had plenty of breakfast food, though the meat, cereal, and milk weren’t in single portions, so other guests were opening them. You have to make your own food and prepare your own tea or coffee. The bathroom and kitchen were clean, and the Wi-Fi was decent, but I don’t think the room was ever vacuumed. The linens were old, and the towels were so thin I could see through them.

The price per person was very reasonable, and it’s a great place to stay. Eric, the owner, is a good guy and will help whenever he can.
