It's easy to find and well placed, about a 10-minute walk to downtown. Espresso on Eyre Square is amazing, though there's no breakfast here. The room and bathroom were both tiny, and the view was basic. The sheet kept coming off because it wasn't fitted, and on the second floor you can hear everything overhead. I wouldn't stay again.

We found the place without trouble, but checking in was a problem. It was 7 pm and nobody was there to meet us. We got into the room thinking things would be okay, then found a problem with the toilet. I told staff the water might be off, and it was fixed with my guidance. We went out for some good food. When we finally lay down, there was BLOOD on the comforter. We called for help, but the staff member said the place was full and refused to call the manager. He had no solution. With the hazardous conditions we were facing, we had no choice but to leave. It then took us an hour and a half to find an open hostel at 1 am. If you want bad service, a BLOODY comforter, a broken toilet, and to be left out in the cold, this is your place.

The place was noisy late at night, with staff outside our room, and waste water, possibly even sewage, running along the outside passage to the rooms. There was black mould around the shower and door frame. We found a dirty floor and an opened food packet in the bedside cabinet, along with four empty water bottles. There seemed to be no cleaning routine, no fire escape plan, and the fire extinguisher was out of test. The flooring was cheap, chipped laminate, not parquet or hardwood. There was no Wi-Fi and no breakfast, despite the B&B advertising. We got a token refund after complaining. Worst place we've ever stayed. Not a good place.

We left in a hurry the next day, and some of our clothes were left behind. Six hours later we called the property. Staff said they'd speak to "housekeeping" and get back to me, but nothing came of it. I followed up several times by phone and email, couldn't reach anyone, and my emails were received but never answered. Don't trust the good reviews, trust the bad ones. Don't stay here. The room was filthy when we arrived, as if it hadn't been cleaned in ages. Dust and hair were everywhere, there was mould in the kettle, and rotting wood in both the bathroom and bedroom. The Wi-Fi didn't work at all. The bathroom was ridiculously small and hard to move around in, and the pillows were very uncomfortable. We tried to find staff to ask for a clean and, if possible, different pillows, but nobody was on the property to help. Unbelievable how many good reviews this place has.
