The breakfast was dreadful: the hot buffet was barely warm, there wasn't much choice, and the food was poor. It felt like nobody had put much thought into it as a meal for a day out sightseeing. The room was worse than the public areas. The floors had obvious stains, the room smelled faintly musty, and the bathroom tiles and grout were stained too. The whole bathroom felt grubby, and I didn't feel it had been properly sanitized for a new guest. Even the lobby and hallways looked uncared for, with dust on surfaces and carpets that seemed not to have been vacuumed for days. I came to Galway expecting a pleasant stay at a hotel owned by Israeli Fattal Hotel Group, but the basic standards of cleanliness and hospitality weren't met. At the price, the experience was unacceptable.

The rooms are large, handy for groups sharing triples, the location is great for Galway, and the bar food is lovely. Staff were very friendly too. My experience with central reservations was the weak point. I emailed to ask about the beds and needed an extra pull-out in two rooms, but their replies felt clinical and made me feel like a nuisance instead of a valued customer. When I asked about booking another room, they said a two-night minimum applied because of an event and that they couldn't help. A few days before we arrived, I called reception and spoke to Oonagh. She was lovely and very helpful, said an extra cot bed was no problem, and asked why eight women were travelling together. She was attentive and clearly good at her job. I later checked out of curiosity and saw another room was available, so the hotel hadn't sold out as central reservations had implied.

Breakfast had lots of choices, good value, and attentive service. You can save a few Euros by prepaying for it at reception. The location couldn't be better, with everything nearby so it was easy to come and go during the day. Our room was clean when we arrived and was cleaned once on request during our three-night stay. The size and layout were as expected, the bed was comfortable, and we were lucky to have a fantastic view. I just wish we'd asked for extra pillows. The reception staff were lovely and quick to help, and we really enjoyed our stay.

We had a beautiful view of the river, and the bar offered a wide range of wines. Breakfast was delicious, and there were snacks and sweets waiting in the mini fridge. The rooms were spectacular and clean. From the moment we arrived until our last day, we were welcomed warmly. A wonderful hotel.

The breakfast was good, with plenty of hot choices like bacon, eggs, sausages, beans, and potatoes, plus a nice selection of bread and pastries. Rooms were spacious and clean, and the hotel is well placed near the Latin Quarter. I'd stay here again when I'm in Galway.
