We went to tir na nog for the first time today and will be back. The welcome from the staff was immediate, and they offered us a choice of sitting in the restaurant or up front by the fire. The atmosphere was lovely, with Irish being spoken from the bar, and the fire was class. We said we’d order two different dishes to share, and a staff member brought us two extra plates. The food was incredible value and cooked to perfection. Amazing, well done, highly recommend.

We look forward to the brownies every week, they’re much too tasty to pass up. The cakes, savouries, and bread are all lovely too, and there’s always a changing selection with new things most weeks. Absolutely outstanding bakery.

After a long walk today, I called into Tír na nÓg. We’re staying nearby and had heard good things about the food, and I was pleased with the menu choices and their Covid 19 measures. The service was efficient, friendly, and made it a lovely experience. I chose a delicious cauliflower and blue cheese soup, followed by a really imaginative “Superfood” salad with Cioggia and other gorgeous beetroots, lovely leaves, kale, and hummus.

The outside doesn't give much away, but the food was the best I've had in ages. Neil, the new chef, clearly cares about what he serves, and the freshness of the local ingredients comes through. The gnocchi, hake, crab linguine and beetroot salad are all worth trying.

We spent five wonderful days here last week and ate dinner on site every night. The food was superb, and the staff were so friendly and happy to accommodate every request. We also took some of their delicious homemade bread with us. The surrounding scenery is beautiful, with hidden gems to discover. Connemara feels like Ireland's best kept secret, and we'll definitely be back.
