The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, and the restaurant itself was gorgeous. Most of the food was delicious and really good quality, so the meal and service were excellent overall. The fish and chips were the letdown. I’d been looking forward to them, but although the fish was cooked just right, it tasted only of grease. The chips were perfectly cooked too, but soaked in oil. At about 26 euro to eat in, compared with 16 euro takeaway, I expected much better for the price. They should lower the cost or keep fish and chips on the takeaway menu.

The chowder was great, and all the food we tried was really tasty. We stopped in for the first time while passing the Cliffs of Moher, and loved the warm, cosy atmosphere, the caring staff, and the beautiful aquarium with fish. We’ll definitely come back and tell our friends about this lovely place.

We had a great stay at Vaughan’s Anchor Inn. The rooms were comfortable, and we enjoyed the cookies with our tea. Dinner was delicious, with lovely scallops and fish and chips, and the staff were especially friendly and efficient. There was a generous range of breakfast options too. I’d highly recommend giving it a try.

The village has four pubs all next door to one another, which made for an easy little evening out. Everyone there was just as friendly as the staff at this lovely, sparkling clean place. Breakfast was delicious too. We’ll be back.
