The restaurant was the real standout. The chef is from S. Africa, and the food was the best we’ve had since arriving in Ireland. Presentation was first rate, and the temperature and taste were outstanding. The staff are amazing, and the owners went above and beyond to make our stay a success. It feels personal and friendly in this family-run place, nothing like a corporate hotel. The rooms have a classy traditional style. Now I understand the award plaques in the lobby, they earned them. -Greg S

We spent two nights in the castle suite on our trip to Ireland and had the chance to enjoy the private pub. We also toured the castle and climbed to the top for views of the cliffs of Moher. It was a perfect base for exploring Clare county Ireland.

The family-run business has caring, hospitable owners who go out of their way to help. There are lovely views of the ocean or the castle, and you can take a guided tour of the castle on the property. It’s close to the Cliffs of Mohr and the town of Doolin. The restaurant is fabulous, with original, artistic dishes; you won’t be disappointed by anything on the menu. There’s also a bar on site.

We booked Ballinalacken Castle Country House Hotel because they had triple rooms available, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The grounds are lovely, with great views of the castle, and views from the castle too. It’s near the town, the Cliffs of Moher, and The Burren, but the hotel is a great place in its own right. Breakfast was top notch, with great food, French press coffee, juices, and pastries. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. We got back a week ago and still think about the stay. We’ll definitely return, and it’ll be the first place we book. Highly recommended!

We had a peaceful stay, with stunning cliff views from our room and beautiful grounds. They gave us a tour of the castle, and both dinner and breakfast were phenomenal. The owners were fantastic hosts, and the staff were attentive and friendly. All around a great experience. We’ll definitely come back!
