It was my first time staying here, and I had a really pleasant visit. The rooms are lovely, the bed was so comfortable, and both the food and service were excellent. Prices were very reasonable too. I'll be back in Cork City, so I'll definitely stay here again. See you soon.

We used the hotel mostly as a place to eat and sleep, and it suited us well. It's cheap and cheerful, and we got a great deal with breakfast included. There was a nice selection of cereal, fruit, yoghurt, and a fry, plus tea, orange juice, apple juice, and more. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they suggested places to visit. Laury was very professional. Thanks again for a lovely weekend.

The dinner was the one bright spot: freshly cooked, generous portions, homemade chips, and a really good feed. It wasn't fine dining, but the food was lovely. The chef seems wasted in a dump like this. The rest of the stay was a nightmare. At check-in, a sour-faced staff member handled things normally enough, but didn't tell us the dinner or breakfast hours or checkout time. I could have overlooked that if the room hadn't been so disgusting. There were holes in the carpet, loose tiles, black mould in the room and bathroom, and a layer of white dust on the headboard, lockers, pictures, and mirrors. A discarded pill was in a drawer, and there were tea stains on the wall behind the beverage station. Do they even have housekeepers? There was no kettle, so I had to call that same staff member on the sticky phone. The one she brought up was filthy and broken. The mattress was yellowish, seemed about a hundred years old, and felt as hard as steel. I only managed to fall asleep after the drinks we'd had, and my back paid for it in the morning. Breakfast was a mediocre continental spread. The full Irish was swimming in fat, the sausages tasted as if they'd been chewed and spat out, and the black pudding seemed out of date and caused my other half serious problems. I tried the coffee to get the taste out of his mouth, but couldn't swallow what tasted like drain cleaner. Back in the room, I stopped at reception and asked for more coffee and milk pods. I got an eye roll and, "I will see what I can do." I felt so insulted that I checked out right away. We packed and left at 9AM. Keep your coffee!

I asked to move rooms because the door wouldn't lock at all. You could walk in without a key card. The hotel should check rooms 113 and 215, and that was enough to bring my rating down to two stars. The place was generally clean apart from a huge stain on the duvet cover. Luckily, there was another bed to sleep in. The toilet was fine, and the shower had good pressure and hot water. But filling the bathtub took so long from its very slow tap that you could be waiting until morning. There were other maintenance and housekeeping issues too. The hotel needs proper upkeep from someone willing to work at it. Thank goodness for my mobile hotspot. The Wi-Fi was free, but there was no internet connection on any of my devices. The password was fine, but the router couldn't assign a local IP address. I usually enjoy hotel stays, but this one... Food? I skipped breakfast for my own safety.

For the love of God, don't stay here. This place is gross. See the pictures, they speak 1,000 words.
