Birchgrove House

Pat and Mary were just the sort of hosts you hope for, helpful without being in your way. We were very happy with our stay: the room was comfortable, breakfast was perfect, and their local tips, right down to where to park, were exactly what we needed. A delightful place.

Birchgrove has been part of my Galway visits since I was a child staying there with my grandparents, and I still come back as an adult. The owners, 'Aunty Mary and Uncle Pat', feel like family now. They’re the loveliest people and such fantastic hosts, always going out of their way to make your stay as good as it can be. Five stars doesn’t feel like enough.

Oranmore gives you easy access to Galway without being caught up in the middle of the city. We took a short taxi ride to catch a bus in, and getting around is easy if you have a car. Pat and Mary were gracious hosts, with great local recommendations that helped make our stay perfect. The place is spotless and comfortable, breakfast is incredible with lovely little touches, and the garden and grounds are beautiful. We found it hard to leave. Take time to chat with Pat and Mary over breakfast, you might make a special friendship.

Mary & Pat made us feel so welcome and were wonderfully warm hosts. I loved staying here, and it was a great location for Oranmore with Galway close by. I have an aunt and uncle in Ireland now!
