Bring activated charcoal. I volunteered here for a week and found the cleaning cloths all mixed together, for the toilet, kitchen, and dining table. When I asked which one was for the toilet, my co-volunteer said, "No idea." A toilet cleaner bottle was also left on the table where guest breakfast bread is cut. Consider your immune system before booking.

John's hospitality was the best part of our stay. He goes out of his way for guests, and the full Irish breakfast was outstanding. The sea view is breathtaking, and there's a small supermarket and gas station within walking distance. The room and bathroom were somewhat compact, but clean, with comfortable beds and an excellent shower. Castlehouse B&B is a warm, welcoming place. Highly recommended.

John's local knowledge is second to none. He sent us toward lovely spots we wouldn't have found ourselves, and his proper Irish fry set us up for the day. Breakfast was top-class, and nobody leaves that table hungry! From the minute we arrived, John made us feel at home. He's a true gentleman with a heart of gold, and staying there felt more like visiting an old friend than being in a B&B. The room was spotless, cosy, and quiet, just right for a restful night's sleep. There's real care and charm in the place, with little touches that made a difference. If you're in the area, do yourself a favour and stay with John. We'll definitely return, and stay longer next time.

The views can't be beat, and breakfast was perfect. John was kind and full of useful local insight, with great dinner recommendations for visitors from out of town. Our room was modest but comfortable. I highly recommend this multi-generational piece of history.
