Boffin Lodge

We had a wonderful time and will be back. The room was huge and nicely decorated, and parking was easy to find just outside the door. We brought two large dogs; they stayed in the room and could use an enclosed courtyard-style garden. Breakfast was delicious and generous, with lots of choice. The owners and staff were really friendly and helpful. The lodge is just around the corner from westport house and the quay, so there's plenty to do on foot.

The location worked well, around a 15-minute walk to central Westport and five minutes to Westport Quay. Our room had a large, comfortable bed, and seeing chickens wandering around the garden was lovely. Breakfast offered good choices, including cereals, cakes, croissants, and jams; giving notice in advance made the morning run more smoothly. The room's tea and coffee setup was poor, though, and there was no milk. The kettle couldn't reach the socket, and the mini fridge just hummed loudly without working. Our room was cold, with no obvious temperature control; only when we asked were we told the control was outside the room. On our last morning there was no hot water for showers.

We stayed one night, booked two rooms, and had nothing to complain about. The rooms were spotless, and breakfast the next morning was lovely before we set off to see more of Ireland. I absolutely loved the place and would definitely recommend it.

The breakfast was decent and the service good, but the room felt too small, with very little storage and an old table crammed into a corner. I was also concerned to see electric scooters charging in the hallway. They were an obstruction to evacuation as well as a fire risk, and that practice should stop immediately.
