We met the host when we arrived to get the key, then didn't see anyone again. We were there for two nights while cycling the Greenway to Achill. The room had only bath towels, no hand towels, though there were basic tea and coffee facilities and a fridge. I expected a decent Irish breakfast for what we paid, but none was offered or available. The listing called it a B&B, and that wasn't clear when I booked. Disappointing.

The rates and location are great, and it's still a fantastic place to stay if you keep the window open. I stayed twice, in two different rooms, and both had a strange damp or sewage-like smell. It was quite unpleasant.

There was no breakfast, and the room door wouldn't lock, so I wedged a chair under the doorknob. I was visiting friends and only needed somewhere to sleep, so it didn't bother me too much. But if you're looking for a proper rest and food, this isn't the place.

The room was freezing, and I ended up going to bed in a tracksuit. The place felt cold and lifeless, with smelly rooms and furniture and carpets that looked straight out of the 1960s, when the Beatles were number one. There was no sign of a fire escape, and no breakfast either. I don't know how this was presented as a B&B. Avoid it at all costs if you don't want to go back to the 1960s.

Three towels for two people over three days isn't enough. The patio was advertised, but there was no access, and from my room it looked very untidy. The rooms were only so-so tidy. There isn't breakfast or even a way to make your own, so sorry, guys, but this is not a B&B. Wouldn't recommend it.
