Really great place!

The kids kept asking to stay longer and didn’t want to leave. We rented the ground floor house for four, with two rooms and two bathrooms; the owners live upstairs on the second floor. It was peaceful, and there’s a big green yard with a barbecue.

The service was friendly and courteous, and the unit felt clean and homey. I stayed downstairs in a guest unit inside a private house in the Rotem neighborhood, near the Moav Promenade. It has a bedroom, kitchen, shower, and an indoor sitting area, plus several places to sit in the yard. The bedroom has a double bed and a folding bed. There’s also a washing machine and dryer outside. The kitchen has utensils, a microwave, gas, and a medium sized fridge, so you can cook. There’s street parking and a synagogue nearby. The Moav Promenade and its sports facilities are close, and you can get to the center on foot fairly easily. The neighborhood is residential, so you’ll need to travel to buy food. Public transport runs fairly often, and taxis can be ordered. Arad taxi fares are fairly consistent, around 23 NIS within the city and 25 NIS to the outskirts. You can also barbecue in the yard.

The facilities were good and the place was clean, though there was no shower despite what the pictures showed. The garden could be lovely, but it was neglected, with clutter that could have been cleared out. Cute cats came into the apartment, which we loved, though they won’t be for everyone. Our main disappointment was the sleeping setup. Booking’s listing showed a double room, but that room was locked, leaving a double bed in the central space. The hostess said the room hadn’t been booked or prepared, and described the central area as a studio since its door closes from the hallway. She also said Booking was misleading guests and that it wasn’t her fault. We explained that the arrangement was inconvenient, especially with children waking early and coming into the sleeping area to watch TV, even though the door could be shut. We said it affected our enjoyment of the trip and asked her to be flexible. She didn’t unlock the empty room or offer it for an extra fee. I can’t tell whether this came from a misleading Booking listing, our misunderstanding, or the hosts, but it left us disappointed and could have been handled better.
