Comfort Hotel Eilat

We had a good time here as four friends, and the staff and room were nice. You get what you pay for. The breakfast was good but not perfect, and the pool, location, exterior, and general feel all lacked that premium touch. If you're just after somewhere clean and pleasant to sleep, without needing upscale features, it could suit you.

I booked through Booking.com about 15 minutes before arriving, and the room had already been prepaid. Getting up the ramp from the street to the lobby was hard with my disability, while someone who looked like security watched me struggle. No one was at the desk at first. When that man came over, he was rude and asked what I wanted. I was fine with leaving a security deposit, but their system declined three cards that had worked everywhere else I used them in Israel and Jordan. He insisted on cash, which I didn't have since I'd been using cards throughout the trip. They told me to find an ATM or cancel. He promised Booking.com would approve a refund, but they haven't, despite repeated requests, and neither they nor the hotel have replied to me or Booking.com's customer service. I was treated terribly. I'd stay away from this hotel and probably Booking.com too.

The pool stayed warm enough in early December, though the wind meant I couldn't stay in long. Construction outside the hotel was happening, but it wasn't much of a bother and wasn't something the hotel could control. My room was cozy and clean; the lighting was too dim for me to see the minibar easily at night. The front desk staff were welcoming, though I didn't interact with many employees. Wi-Fi kept dropping, so at times I switched to my hotspot to watch TV. I enjoyed the stay and would recommend it.

Breakfast was a great start to a busy workday, with a good choice of fresh food. I was traveling on business alone, though a few coworkers were there too. The room was clean and everything worked. Construction across the road came through the windows from 6am because they weren't sound-tight, but since I was already getting up for work, it didn't affect me much. The Wi-Fi connection and speed weren't great, so I used my phone's hotspot for my laptop. Overall, a good stay.
