We expected to get some rest during our two-night stay after a 12-hour flight. Instead, at 8:00 AM, loud renovation work woke us up. No one had told us about the construction before we booked. We couldn’t get through to the hotel by phone, and when someone finally responded, they offered only a partial refund. That doesn’t make up for the lost sleep and ruined morning, or for how little regard they showed for guests’ well-being. The whole experience at Publica Isrotel was unacceptable, with no transparency and poor management. I’d stay elsewhere.

Our room was large and had the usual Marriott comforts. Breakfast was a delicious, full Israeli buffet at Greco, included with the stay. There’s also a large, full-service gym with outside memberships for boxing and studio classes. The property is nice, though serious construction and improvements are underway right now, so expect daytime noise.

We’ve just checked out, and the staff were all so nice and willing to do whatever they could to make our stay good. The hotel was very clean, the bed comfortable, the shower great, and the Israeli breakfast delicious. The rooftop pool area is lovely, though people often ignore the no-smoking areas. Management tried to keep on top of it Friday, but Saturday was very busy and felt a bit too much like a party scene for me.

We’ve stayed at Publica Hotel twice now. The location is fantastic for getting around downtown Tel Aviv and the shore areas, and the nightly price is good value. The rooms are large enough for a couple, but not for a couple with kids. Everything is very clean, and the whole hotel smells great. Service is very good, and the staff know the area and are happy to help. If you can, don’t miss the breakfast buffet.
