Dan Accadia Herzliya Hotel

The hotel has a beautiful property and plenty of potential, but service really ruins the experience. We were woken at 9:30 a.m. by loud construction outside our room, with no warning. I called the concierge, but the issue wasn’t really addressed. Our room and bathroom were quite spacious, which was a plus, but the room wasn’t clean when we arrived. Check-in took about an hour and felt disorganized. At lunch, I asked several times for a clean glass and waited around 30 minutes. When the waiter finally brought it, he said patience was key to life. Maybe he meant it as a joke, but it came across as dismissive in the moment. The hotel has promise, but service needs to be more attentive and organized.

Avoid it. The hotel may have been the gold standard in the 1970s, but now it feels stuck in the past. The rooms are small with low ceilings, common areas are a bit decrepit, and the staff, especially at reception, are subpar. It doesn’t deserve even a two star rating.

We found the hotel filthy in places, with empty beer bottles, used towels, leftover food, and cigarette butts left in public areas. It felt neglected and chaotic. Everything also shuts at 10pm, with no room service, food, drinks, or even a snack. For a so-called five-star resort charging nearly £400 a night, that’s disgraceful. The rooms were decent and the beach view was nice, but the rest of our stay at Dan Accadia was a major letdown. Reception staff were rude and unprofessional. One receptionist, a Filipino woman, changed her attitude when she saw my Israeli entry card. The booking was under my wife’s British passport and paid with her UK card, yet she insisted I owed 18% VAT because of the entry card. I haven’t lived in Israel for over 25 years, but she wouldn’t listen or try to understand. She dismissed what I said and made check-in unpleasant and awkward. It felt personal. During a siren, staff sent us to the basement shelter. A woman with a tattoo of red and blue stripes on her left arm filmed people there the whole time. I complained to someone who said he was from security, and he replied, “Maybe they were just recording themselves.” That was ridiculous. Guests were scared and vulnerable, and filming them was a complete invasion of privacy. He brushed it off and did nothing. The staff’s behavior was unacceptable, and management showed no accountability. For all these reasons, I took my photos down. I won’t return, and I’d tell others to think twice before booking.

We spent all of Passover in 2025 there, and the Dan Accadia was awesome. The place was clean, the room was cleaned daily, and reception helped us with all sorts of things. We’d stayed there before, and we’ve stayed there again!
