Palm on the Beach

We stayed in the one-bedroom apartment cabin and found it clean, fresh, and homey. The owner/manager was incredibly accommodating. The price and facilities were amazing, and the big TV was a nice touch. If you're after a beautiful, romantic place at a reasonable price, this one fits. I wish I had more words for how much I loved palm on the beach. We’ll definitely visit again.

The beach is only about a 30-second walk away, and the Tamar room has some lovely design details. But they feel old now: the ceiling lamp was broken and held up by another string, the window locks didn't work, the curtain was torn, and the bed made a huge noise whenever we moved. The fridge was so loud we unplugged it overnight, and the main door lock needed a push to lock and unlock. The room was generally clean, though dust covered the tops of the beds and shelves, and the little carpets seemed overused, hopefully sanitized. It had a strong cigarette smell every time we entered. There was no soap or shampoo as advertised, and used toilet paper had been left in the toilet. The garden is shared with other rooms, so privacy and noise depend on luck.

I can't sleep at 2:23 because the people next door have their music at full volume. I've got the TV on and can still hear them unbearably. The house is divided into rooms, and this is driving me nuts. The pillows had no cases, and there was no hot water in the evening. Help.

We won't come back, and I can't recommend the place. It was a really poor experience. The accommodation wasn't ready when we arrived, and we then found out the shower-jacuzzi wasn't private at all. How was that supposed to work for five adults? In the end, nobody showered. The linen and pillows were dirty, and there weren't enough sets. When we asked the host for the missing linen, he was busy for a while, then brought some but still not everything we needed. We tried to negotiate a break because of the inconvenience, but he wouldn't hear of it.
