El Yam Luxury Resort

We went in winter, and the pool was warm with a nice covered area. It’s an amazing place right on the beach, with perfect service from the team. I’d really recommend it for groups.

The worst experience. They moved us to a different place without telling us, but still charged the same price. One pool was empty and the other dirty. Lunch was served in a tent in the cold. They said they’d provide games, but I’m still waiting. The service was bad, the attitude negative, and there were plenty more crazy problems. Stay away if you don’t want the headache.

We had a really relaxing, enjoyable Shabbat weekend with two big families, spread across three complexes for a shabbat hatan. Each complex had its own pool, which gave us privacy, and there were lots of things for kids, including bouncy castles, table games, and trampolines. The staff were helpful and eager to meet our needs. The food was mixed, with some really yummy dishes and others less so. It was clean enough that I didn’t need to use the sheets and towels I’d brought, and the toilets were clean, though the showers could’ve been better. Cleanliness varied by complex, and some brand-new rooms were sparkling while others were less so. It could use more finishing touches around the complexes and in the rooms to look more put together. This is more like a resort than a hotel, with several nearby complexes sharing an eating hall and synagogue. Each has around 10 rooms, plus a pool, jacuzzi, kitchen, and other amenities. There’s a lot to do, from beach-front weddings to bachelorette events. Standards vary too, from basic small rooms to luxurious larger ones, and the pools differ. It’s right on the beach, about five minutes from the sea, though the beach entrance and exit need improvement. Enjoy!

Avoid this place. Our group booking was overcharged on the credit card, and they’re refusing to refund us. Nobody in the group was happy with the bedrooms. Rooms hadn’t been properly cleaned between guests, and there were dirty sheets and towels left behind. Some had no soap or toilet paper, and one bedroom had mouse droppings. Door handles came off, leaving doors impossible to shut, or making it impossible to get out when they jammed closed. The hotel has potential, but it needs a full renovation, a deep clean, and better management.
