King Solomon

The bathroom was a daily problem: the shower was tiny, the pressure was so poor that I came away with cuts on my back, and the floor flooded after about five minutes. That was also how long it took for the water to get hot. Every pillow, sheet, and towel was stained. The room layouts made no sense and left no room for several pieces of luggage. The hotel was already very humid, and without air conditioning in the hallways, lobby, or dining room, it smelled damp and was unpleasant to walk through. Room units couldn't be adjusted, so some rooms were freezing while others never got cold. I hope I never have to return to the King Solomon Hotel, supposedly one of the area's nicest. Hard to believe.

The food was average, sometimes a little better, but that doesn't make the price reasonable, even for Passover. The hotel hasn't been renovated in about 20 years, and the pillows seemed around 25 years old, full of cotton wool balls. When I asked for proper ones, they brought the same kind and told me they didn't actually have full pillows, suggesting I stack them. Until the halls, bedrooms, and bathrooms are renovated, I wouldn't spend money here. Without the location, I'd rate it one star.

The rooms and shared areas were dirty, with stained sheets and pillows and mattresses full of holes. Hygiene seemed completely overlooked, and the staff weren't friendly. During our family stay, we couldn't enjoy what we'd paid for, but management flatly refused any discount or compensation. The hotel was undergoing work in July, August, and September 2023, for an unspecified length of time. Nothing on the travel platforms or hotel website mentioned the construction, and none of the advertised services were guaranteed, including the jacuzzi, spa, gym, pool, bar, Wi-Fi, or Israeli breakfast. Breakfast amounted to stale, inedible cookies, with no milk, fruit, or juice. Avoid this run-down hotel and consider the Leonardo Plazza instead, a place with services and humanity.

The balcony view was lovely and the pool was good, which made the state of everything else a shame. We got in late to find a dirty room and towels, a safe and balcony door that didn't work, and only three hangers in the cupboard. The furniture was old and falling apart. Breakfast was very poor, including bad coffee and croissants, if that's what they were, that tasted old, as did the other items. Really disappointing.
