Lisa's Farm Place

Staying a little outside Rishon Lezion made it quiet and relaxing, which was a nice break while visiting family in town. My wife and I stayed at Lisa’s farm, where Lisa was so welcoming, took care of what we needed, and helped with a few requests. We’d definitely come back.

Lisa and Uri are lovely, friendly hosts who made us feel at home. The accommodation was clean and roomy, with everything we needed. Getting around was easy: the highway is about two minutes away for trips beyond Rishon, the train and bus station is 15 minutes on foot or 7 by car, and the center of Rishon is 10 minutes away. A wonderful spot close to everything.

It’s a real farm with a garden and animals, so keep in mind it isn’t in the city. There’s a kibbutz-like feel here, with fruit everywhere and a few different animals. Though it’s near noisy Tel Aviv, the farm also makes a handy base for traveling around Israel. Uri is a professional guide and offers tours. It’s marvelous that he’s still studying archaeology at university at his age.

Once you get past the gravel turns and the tree nursery, there’s a small dirt parking area by a stone wall and wooden gate, and then you’ve found Lisa's Farm. Lisa and Uri can guide guests to various sites. There are dogs, horses, a gray parrot, and an orchard full of star fruit, lemons, olives, avocado, oranges, and flowers. The place has family history too: Lisa's husband's father owned it and planted the date palms along the fences. The tiny house units are clean and comfortable, made from old railroad box cars with additions that create a living area with a kitchen and a separate bedroom. Mine had two air conditioners. The mattress was firm and comfortable, and the memory foam pillows were solid. If you're staying in or near Rishon L'tzion, it's a great place.
