This place felt like a dirty hostel, not a hotel, and the neighborhood seemed dangerous to me. I wouldn’t walk alone there at night. The Carmel market nearby felt full of rip-off artists. My sheet smelled awful, and one of the two towel sets smelled like sweat. The floor left my bare feet dirty, like it hadn’t been mopped, and the photos seem edited to hide how filthy it is. Are the rooms ever cleaned? The person at the desk was rude and crude, as other travelers have also noted. It was noisy all night and early morning, with car alarms from the parking lot and no soundproofing. I could hear people opening doors and the neighbors constantly through the very thin walls. The AC also shuts off when you need it to sleep.
