Brown Brut Seafront Hotel

We gave the hotel plenty of chances during our three-day stay, but there were problems throughout and the service stayed rude and unhelpful. We came because a friend who loves the Brown chain recommended it. I usually leave good ratings, so this was a disappointment. Service was the worst part. Most staff didn't even say hello, except Mr. Alon, and everything took too long. We checked in Friday night and paid in cash, then had to ask about our change every day for three days before we got it, and the staff were in a bad mood about it. They handed us a sheet about tours without explaining the options, and didn't seem to know the offerings in enough detail. We asked three times for an extra pillow. The hotel advertises “free bicycles,” but they never had the lock keys. There was no toilet paper in our room when we arrived. We called twice and waited more than 30 minutes for someone to come. The shower flooded the whole bathroom, a known problem as far as I could tell, so I don't know why they put guests in that room. They moved us the next day to a good room. Then, the night before we left, an electrical issue stopped the air conditioning and switched on the emergency lights at 4 a.m. The air conditioning didn't come back until late morning. Also, it felt odd that the hotel occupies a few floors of an office building. I'm sorry to write this, but I wish I'd known before booking. It's hard to run a business, but the repeated problems and poor service made this stay a bad experience. P.D. Actually all my reviews of this trip are a “5”.

The reception wasn't staffed all the time, so we had to wait a couple of times to speak to someone. Still, we had a really good stay, and I would recommend it. We were there midweek when the hotel was mostly vacant, and it felt like they did the best they could for us. Prices are very affordable at the moment, probably because the hotel is still new. They upgraded us to a better room than we booked, gave us a bottle of wine for the birthday we'd mentioned, and let us check out an hour late. The clean, well-designed room was pleasant, with a great view of the beach. We also got a couple of complimentary upgrades.

The hot tubs on the beautiful sunroof were lovely, and the business lounge gave us a nice place to get a little work done. We were greeted with a glass of bubbles, and we really appreciate that the hotel is pet friendly. The hotel is right by the sea and very well run, with kind staff. Our room was very clean, and you could see staff checking cleanliness around the hotel. There were lots of people working to make the stay comfortable. Breakfast in the ground-floor restaurant was delicious, with a big selection, and seemed well managed. The managers deserve a big round of applause. We enjoyed our stay and will be back soon.

Kirill is the best manager I've met. When I got stuck in traffic far from the hotel, just hours before my flight, his advice and help in a critical moment kept me from missing it. Thank you for your hospitality and for making my stay in Tel Aviv comfortable. The hotel was wonderful, with comfortable rooms, a good location, and polite staff who were always available and ready to help in any situation.
