Cityinn - Jaffa Apartments

The place is simple but clean and functional, and it's close to the flea market. You can walk to the port, Old Jaffa or the beaches. We'd happily stay here again. On arrival, we got an upgrade to a suite with two beds, one in the bedroom and another in a loft. We could leave our bags at the front until the room was ready, which took less than an hour. The staff were friendly, suggested a terrific breakfast spot, Shaffa, and let us check out late for free. The air conditioning worked great. We slept better than expected with the windows closed, since street noise didn't keep us up. Hot water came right away and the water pressure was strong.

This is my third time coming here, and I'll keep coming back. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the location makes it easy to get around on foot. There are good restaurants nearby as well as the wonderful market. The rooms are nice, with balconies, and you can rent a rooftop for a little extra. I recommend the place.

The location was good and the bed was comfortable, but that was about all we liked. The listing photos were very misleading. We aren't budget travelers, and chose the property for its location and what looked like charming rooms. Affordable hotels in Jaffa may be limited, but I'd still think twice before booking. A mix-up with our booking agent left us in a budget double that looked nothing like the photos. The room was so small we couldn't open a suitcase on the floor. The kitchen and bathroom were grimy, with bent cabinets that wouldn't close properly and moldy grout throughout the bathroom. The bathroom bin hadn't even been emptied. It had dirty, bloody bandages from the previous guests. We'd been told on the phone before arrival that there would be plenty of free street parking. There were no spaces when we got there, so we drove around aimlessly for an hour and eventually paid for a pricey private lot across the street. We checked out a night early and booked a wonderful hotel in Haifa instead.

We had a suite with a wraparound terrace and views in three directions. The room was spacious and very clean, and the staff were helpful. We arrived late, after reception had closed, but a staff member came to let us in.
