The main problem was how long it took to deal with the broken AC thermostat. It stopped working in the middle of the night, and even after we told several staff members, it took two nights for them to move us. The disturbance badly affected our sleep. There were other service failures too. We requested a wake-up call on the first night and it never came. Some staff were difficult to approach for recommendations on activities and restaurants. We chose Dave Levinsky because of the positive reviews, but our stay didn’t match them. We emailed and called several times to share our feedback, and after three months there was still no response. No reply, no accountability, and zero customer service. There are plenty of better options in Tel Aviv. Stay away.

The biggest problem was noise inside the building. The doors are the worst soundproofed I’ve come across, and the building’s design seems to amplify every conversation or movement in the corridor straight into the room. If you book, ask for a room as far as possible from the lift and stairs. The staff were friendly, the location is brilliant, and the place has character. There were some minor maintenance issues in the bathroom, and the roof terrace felt a bit neglected. A good stay with caveats.

There’s no reason to choose this hotel when Tel Aviv has so many nicer options at the same or lower price. It’s just not nice. The comfortable bed earns one star, and the kind female cleaners earn the other. The photos show the condition of the showers.

The room was good and the location was great, but the service wasn’t. Staff rarely greeted us and seemed unhappy when guests came to reception. On Sunday morning, which I know is a working day in Israel, the maids banged doors and talked loudly in the hallway. Even after we came out in our pajamas and asked for some quiet, they didn’t seem interested in stopping. Good room, not much service.
