Gordon Inn & Suites

The staff were friendly and helpful, and this was a warm, welcoming place. Our rooms were clean and nice, but the three couples in our group ended up on different floors, sharing bathrooms and toilets with people we didn't know. We would have preferred to stay together.

The only reason I didn't give five stars was a booking mix-up: we were told our check-in was a day later than it really was. They reimbursed us without any hassle. Our room was clean and orderly, the staff were courteous and helpful, and the central Tel Aviv location made it easy to get around.

Leigh and Taylor were amazing. The staff were friendly, kind, personable, helpful, and generous with their time, and that alone made the stay worthwhile. The location is great, just a few minutes' walk from the beach, restaurants, shops, groceries, and hair and spa services. The rooms are small but clean and well appointed. There's a lobby lounge and a balcony with free Wi-Fi. Great value.

The room was basic but comfortable, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a full-sized bottle of wine and a tin of cookies waiting for me. Both were free, a really nice touch. Taylor at check-in was especially friendly and helped make our stay pleasant. The staff speak several languages and can help arrange activities or connect you with tour companies. The hotel is well placed, a couple of blocks from the beach and near restaurants. Walkers can stroll 40-50 minutes down to Jaffa or head 15 minutes to Hilton beach to watch surfers. My room was noisy because it was right by the elevator, so I needed earplugs to avoid being woken by other guests. On my last night, two cats fought outside for hours in the early morning. The hotel couldn't do much about that, but it added to the noise. Breakfast came as vouchers for a delicious cafe five minutes away, but we were on a very tight schedule and skipped it two days in a row. There's no laundry service. Basic hotel, and it can be noisy, but the staff work hard to make guests comfortable and happy. Great location.
