Gordon Beach Apartments

Cockroaches were coming out of the drains, and we found both live and dead ones on the floor. The room and the whole floor smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which was unbearable. They don’t enforce the no-smoking policy. We complained several times and were offered a free dinner at a hotel with roaches. Yuck. I asked for money instead and was told the manager would call, but weeks went by and no one did. We’ve been Leonardo guests for a long time, but I guess we’ll have to choose another chain. Edit: I saw the hotel claim I never stayed there, which is an outright lie. It’s unbelievable how far they’ll go to dodge responsibility instead of making the promised call. Tel Aviv has plenty of great places, so don’t let this one mess up your plans. We were excited to stay here and had a nice conversation on Booking, where they promised a bottle of wine for my birthday and an early check-in. Then, on the very day we were due to arrive, we learned they’d cancelled our reservation because of “OVERBOOKING”. They didn’t even tell us a day ahead, let alone apologize. It’s the first time we’ve had this happen with Booking, and now we can’t even leave a review there. Avoid at all costs.

The staff were dismissive, unfriendly and sometimes outright rude. Whenever I asked for something or had a question, they seemed annoyed, like guests were a bother. Basic services were unavailable or handled without care, and it was clear neither the staff nor management seemed interested in hospitality or customer satisfaction. My room had dust and stains, wasn’t properly clean, and smelled unpleasant. Everything felt neglected and run down. I’ve stayed in many hotels, but this was the worst by far. I left frustrated, unwelcome and shocked by how little they cared. Avoid this place.

The elevators and corridors smelled bad, and my room hadn’t been cleaned. The bin was full and there was no mirror in the room. I booked a couples room for two, but when I went to the pool with my sister, the man there wouldn’t let us in because the booking was for one person, even though I’d paid for two. I’ve never had service this awful or felt so disrespected. Stay away.
