The location and parking were the best parts, though the parking is a problem for large cars. We booked the best room on the top floor, but the bed was uncomfortable, and the coffee in the room was cheap. Nothing felt pampering, and breakfast wasn’t good at all. It’s overpriced and doesn’t feel like the hotel that opened a few years ago. I don’t think it’s worth the price.

I woke up with a sore throat after the AC blew straight at my head. The airflow couldn’t be redirected up or down, even though that control seemed to be there. Staff couldn’t help, and sleeping without AC was impossible because the room was so stuffy. Opening the windows wasn’t an option either, with noisy Rothschild Boulevard right outside. A daytime employee told me she’d turned down the power and everything would be fine, but that wasn’t true. She hadn’t changed anything, and a night colleague confirmed they didn’t even have that function. The staff were completely unprofessional and couldn’t resolve any issue; communication felt like a student dormitory. I’d stayed here once or twice a year for many years, but this was my last time. The hotel has become terrible. What used to be a five-star hotel has fallen to hostel level, and almost $300-400$ a night is in no way justified.

The Rothschild Hotel has a real advantage in its address, right on one of Tel Aviv’s iconic boulevards, with easy access to the city’s energy, charm, and culture. My stay was okay, but the room and service didn’t live up to what the location and reputation suggest. There were basics missing, including a hairdryer, and details like fresh water cups and properly cleared cutlery were overlooked. The layout felt awkward and not very functional. The team was friendly, but seemed inexperienced, with some staff unsure of what to do. A hotel in such a premium location needs more attentive service and better training. With more care on the details, it could live up to its potential.

We left halfway through our stay. The rooms were noisy and dirty, and the hotel was poorly maintained, downmarket, and understaffed. Service was rude and unprofessional, and the value for money was terrible. If you’re used to even basic standards abroad, this place simply isn’t suitable. Avoid it and book elsewhere.
