Mulan TLV Hotel

The room looked okay, but for the price it was in rough shape, with wires hanging from the walls and broken outlets. The whole place almost felt abandoned. When we arrived at 14:00, I’d thankfully already spoken with someone at the desk and they got us a key. The girl with tattoos who checked us in was cool. But when we came back from dinner at 20:00, there was nobody at reception, and a lot of angry, confused people were waiting to check in. They tried calling, but the phone just rang at the empty desk. We left at 8:00 the next morning, and still nobody was there. We left a note saying we were leaving, hoping someone would find it. After that front desk experience, I really can’t recommend the hotel.

The neighborhood felt a little dodgy, kind of hood-like, though I guess it was safe. I’m not sure what the city considers safe. Mainly, stay somewhere else. The hotel profile says reception is staffed 24/7, but that wasn’t true. I arrived at 3:30am to a locked door and no one at the desk. There was a manager’s number on the door, but he rarely answered. Staff seemed to turn up whenever they chose. I waited seven hours for someone to come to reception. I’d been told someone would arrive at 9am, but the girl didn’t show until 10am. It doesn’t feel like a dependable hotel. If you expect more of a dorm or hostel, with staff not always available, you may be okay. Keep your expectations extremely low.

The room was beautifully done, and the lighting was great. I had an amazing stay at Mulan, and the staff were wonderful. They helped extend my stay after unexpected events came up during my trip. I definitely want to stay here again.

A charming, clean hotel in a great location, with friendly people. I’ll definitely come back.
