PoliHosts Old Jaffa - Hostel

The bathrooms were dirty, the bed had strange stains, and the AC barely worked. Getting in was a mess too: the owner gave us the wrong code and didn’t respond in time when we tried to reach him. Our taxi driver called to ask for the correct code, and the owner told him he should have left us on the street because it wasn’t his problem. Awful customer service. I wouldn’t recommend this place to tourists.

We got stuck outside because there’s no reception to check you in. Get all the instructions online before arriving if you decide to stay, since other guests were left outside too while we were there. The private room itself was dirty and moldy, with such a strong damp smell it was almost hard to breathe. There was dirty underwear and random stuff in the cupboard, plus dirt and other things on the floor. I can’t recommend it.

Abed is super friendly, nice, and welcoming, and the atmosphere here is hard to beat. For the price, this is 100% the best hostel in Tel Aviv. I liked the gold tile floors, fancy sliding glass door, clean bathrooms and shower, and quaint rooms. They really go out of their way to accommodate guests.

It’s a cute, very small place, and that makes it easy to connect with other travellers. Cleanliness was okay, though not perfect. I was really disappointed to arrive and find there was no staff at all. I had to pick a bed myself and ask other travellers for the Wi-Fi, and nobody even checked whether I’d paid. Some people living there were kind and helped me, but they aren’t paid to run the place. Having staff around would have been appreciated. Thanks, Idan, for being kind.
