The Drisco Hotel Tel Aviv - Relais & Châteaux - Adults Only

I liked the area, with its gritty, artsy feel, even though it’s gentrifying, and I’d recommend staying here. My room was large, faced the street, and had a balcony. It was mostly quiet, apart from some scattered construction noise. The hotel is beautiful, but for what I paid, parts of the service and breakfast came up short. The food was delicious, and the Israeli selection of cheese, salad, and tuna was huge. The eggs benedict were great too. But I could choose pancakes or eggs, not both, which I hadn’t come across before, and the fruit selection was limited.

The Drisco has a real identity. It doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard to be luxurious, and the charm outweighs the few imperfections. I’d especially suit couples and adults looking for peace, privacy, atmosphere, architecture, and emotional comfort over commercial entertainment. It’s the kind of place you remember for how it felt after leaving. That calm comes through in the historic building, where old-world elegance meets modern comfort. The room was very clean, organized, and carefully maintained. The coffee machine and shower both showed attention to the guest experience. The air conditioning worked perfectly, the lighting was soft, the music felt chosen with care, and the hotel stayed quiet enough to feel like an escape. This isn’t a spot for loud entertainment or endless attractions. The staff were warm and human. Milk I requested for the room took longer than expected, but the team later handled it professionally and offered complimentary coffee, which left me with a positive impression. A few things could be better: there’s no pool or jacuzzi, the gym is limited, parking may be inconvenient if you don’t know the area, and the shower head had a small issue.

The staff were welcoming and supportive, and the whole place had an excellent vibe. We had a nice night at the Drisco. The rooms are basic, though the bathrooms are huge and well equipped. We had a balcony, but it felt like a waste of money: a tall building blocked one side and a huge Ficus tree the other, so there was no view. The rooftop happy hour is a nice gesture, although another tall building mostly blocks the sunset. Just be aware there’s no pool. For an afternoon or evening walk, I recommend the American Colony neighborhood, HaMesila Park, and the old railroad station.

The old building is beautiful, the rooms are immaculate, and breakfast is a great à la carte meal from the chef. There’s also happy hour in the historic Mark Twain lounge.
