OYO 19948 Hotel Goverdhan

The hotel was like a scrap yard, and nothing matched the pictures online. The toilet seat was broken, the room was dirty, seepage was everywhere, and there was dirt and cobwebs all around. There was no housekeeping to clean and no food was provided. They also didn’t provide the wifi shown online. Even when my colleague asked for fresh sheets, they hadn’t been changed, and he was told, “I am giving you bedsheet, do it yourself.” Lokesh, the reception guy, charged me 1000 Rupees for a room listed online at 863. What are they charging so much for? They didn’t provide even basic amenities. Totally pathetic place to stay.

The property is in shambles, so don’t trust the pictures on Google. The room smelled, and the sheets and pillows were soiled and stinking. The washroom was like a public toilet. When I asked the manager at reception to get it cleaned, he said he couldn’t because there was no staff to do it. The wifi promised when I booked through the official website wasn’t provided either, and the network reception inside the room was very poor. The hotel staff, who technically don’t seem to have any, were barely supportive. A terrible experience, just don’t go there.

The person at reception was quite polite, and I didn’t have any problems during my stay. The hotel is decent, though not really good, and the location is best. If you want to book, you can. It also has a bit of a haunted-house vibe.

The rooms were clean and sanitised, and worked well for a stay with family and friends. I spent three days at Hotel Goverdhan and had one of my best experiences so far. Staff were professional and regularly took care of my needs. If yours in Agra, give it a go and enjoy the experience.
