The facilities were awful: the kitchen was very dirty, the toilet flush didn’t work, and the hostel was full of mosquitoes. We’d booked two beds, but the owner said there weren’t any and offered a floor mattress for a higher price. When we arrived, there were empty beds. He claimed they were booked but that nobody had shown up, then asked one person in our group to pay three times as much. We ended up sleeping on the floor.
The owners took advantage of us because we arrived late at night and had no other choice. The place was dingy, smelled foul, and was full of mosquitoes. There was a big rat in our room, and the linen was dirty and smelly. A terrible experience. I’d never recommend it.
The bathroom was in horrible condition, and the owner was very rude. The website says there’s a 24-hour front desk, but nobody was there. At 5 in the morning, I was told to go away and come back at 6. I returned then and rang the bell several times before anyone got up. The AC was unavailable in one room because it was supposedly under maintenance, and staff said that if I stayed alone in another room, I couldn’t run its AC for long. How can they switch off the AC while a guest is sleeping in the hot summer? If they need to cut costs that badly, they shouldn’t offer AC rooms.
The owner took payment in cash, including tax, and said the invoice would arrive by email. I followed up for a long time, but they still haven’t sent a tax invoice or returned the tax. Be careful.
The place smelled really bad and had lots of bugs. The staff were nice, but you can get somewhere better for the same price.
