Hotel Atithi

I'm a frequent business traveler to Ahmedabad and usually stay continuously at Exora Hotel because of its excellent rooms and kind staff. It was sold out on my dates, so I booked nearby Atithi The Hotel instead. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone traveling for business. The rooms are noisy, dusty, and poorly maintained, like an old property that hasn't been updated. The tariffs are high, perhaps because of nearby hospitals, though in my view the stay should cost ₹1,500 to ₹2,000 max. There were several practical problems: the washbasin knob was broken and unusable, several lights didn't work, and the supposed working chair was a dining chair that made it impossible to work comfortably. The AC is controlled centrally, so you have to ask reception to turn it on, which is very inconvenient. Breakfast was disappointing too, just 2 fruits, one juice, 3 items, and two kinds of sandwiches. When I reported the washbasin, Mr. Manjeet kept saying it would be fixed soon, but it never was. I asked to change rooms and was refused because the hotel said it was sold out. That wasn't true, as room service staff confirmed many rooms were empty. I ask management to renovate and train the staff to be more supportive if they want more business class stays. I strongly don't suggest this hotel for business in Ahmedabad. I'd stick with Exora, which remains the best stay in the area, with far better service and standards.

My college doctors from outside Gujarat stay here regularly. The rooms and services are very good.

We chose a hotel near HCG Hospital because my father was having surgery. We checked in around 10 pm, then at 8 am the manager called and told us to check out within 10 min. We were surprised. When checking out, I asked manager Mr Mehul Parmar about it, but he was very rude and yelled at us. It was a horrifying, very pathetic experience.

Breakfast, especially the tea, was the highlight, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location worked well, but the hotel feels dated despite the renovation, and the air conditioners are old. I was first given a different room from the one promised, though they changed it after I asked. The price felt high for what was provided. There’s no dedicated parking, just roadside spaces, and I wouldn’t recommend the lunch or dinner. If there’s a better option nearby, I’d choose it.
