Hotel The Grand Shivay

I live nearby and have booked rooms here for several guests visiting Ahmedabad. Each time, they've had an excellent experience. The staff are courteous and efficient, and the pleasant, professional atmosphere helps make the stay smooth and comfortable. Rooms are well furnished and maintained, and the hotel keeps up high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. I highly recommend it to business travelers and anyone looking for a dependable, comfortable place to stay in Ahmedabad.

The staff and location were both okay. The rooms smelled of cockroach tablets, and some paint was peeling off the ceiling. The toilet was cramped, and water spread into the room because there wasn't enough space in the bathroom.

At check-in, our bathroom wasn't clean, and the milk powder sachets they provided were expired. The bathroom was very small and had no exhaust fan. There was only one room-service boy available at a time. My experience at this hotel was very bad.

I don't understand the 4.1 reviews. I've booked this hotel two to four times because I had no other option, but there are cockroaches all over the bathroom. At night, I see four to six each time I go in. Room 305 is especially bad, and I've heard another reviewer describe it as having paranormal activity. I'm not joking, and apparently someone else felt that too, though there could be other issues involved. The staff are good, but the cockroaches are a serious problem. Go check room 305 and the bathrooms yourself, then tell me what you think.
