OYO 2351 Hotel Golden Plaza

The food was especially tasty and well prepared. Our room was excellent, with the basics a traveller needs, including a TV and hot water kettle. The washroom was clean, and hot water came freely from both the tap and shower. The hotel sits right beside the waterfront, and the gated parking was convenient and reassuring. Room service was prompt and efficient. We had a comfortable, satisfying stay.

We enjoyed the Punjabi food and breakfast, and the little hotel is in a great spot, in the city centre with the Sabarmati river front on one side. We booked two rooms with twin beds, but were charged ₹1000 extra for the second guest in each room. The bathrooms are very small, and the toilet is so close to the shower that it gets wet.

I decided against booking after visiting the reception and seeing a marble tabletop that was half broken and hadn't been replaced. It gave me a poor impression of the ambience and the quality of the rooms. The admin staff in charge should arrange to replace it as soon as possible. I would have attached a photo, but this review page doesn't offer that option.

The food was tasty and enjoyable, and our twin-bed room was decent. We had Room No. 108 on the first floor. The hotel kindly let us check in early at 11:00 AM, which helped since our train from Delhi arrived in the morning. During the day, drilling work made it hard to rest. Utensil cleaning was also very loud in our room and went on late into the night. That noise made the stay uncomfortable. Future guests might want to ask for a room on the top floors, since lower rooms may hear the utensil cleaning.
