The Grand Hotel

Service was very delayed no matter what I ordered, and guests have to come down to reception to order anything. Hotels should bring things to the rooms. The staff could also use more language skills, and they should greet guests politely. I don’t hate them, but those things need improvement. Thank you 🙏🏻, though I’m not obsessed ☺️.

The location is the only good thing here. Hotel Regency is just a few steps away, and if you can get a room there, don’t think twice. This place has a grand name but is pathetic. My room was matchbox-sized, and the lift was so tiny that one person with a bag wouldn’t fit. They charge over 40 rupees for a bottle of water, wouldn’t change the sheets when asked, and the complimentary breakfast had so few options that you’d mostly skip it. I asked for tea in the room during breakfast and was told it would cost extra. On my last day, I was across the street when a huge water tank fell from the hotel roof and emptied onto the road, nearly hurting several passersby. When I got back to check out, my floor was swimming in water and there was none in the room. I spent almost all my time outside each day to avoid the hotel’s depressive vibe. The staff were rude and egoistic too. Regency wins on location as well. Just DO NOT BOOK IT.

I stayed at Grand Hotel from 16 November 2025 to 20 November 2025. The location is in the city centre, with easy access to Bara Bazar and other areas. The staff were friendly, calm, and really helpful, treating you like family, and the food was good. I did have WiFi issues, but everything else was perfect. If you’re visiting Aizawl, I recommend keeping this hotel on your list.
