Arcadia Regency Hotel

Getting anything done meant calling several different extensions, since there was no central service desk, and the service was extremely disappointing. Management seemed to look for chances to add charges, even for bottled water in the room. Food was average at best, with the prepaid package dishes often poorly prepared or lower quality. Dry Manchurian wasn't part of the package, which included only the gravy version, but they had it as soon as we paid extra. Mosquitoes got into the room despite the closed windows and AC, and the bathroom had no ventilation.

The food was below average in taste and quality, and there wasn't enough of it. The AC also didn't work properly, and there was no room service. With poor service across the board, the stay was uncomfortable and not worth the cost. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

When we returned to our room, they called right away to say we'd eaten without paying, even though the food was included in our package. Their tone was unacceptable. The room had a persistent bad smell, the fan and AC were very noisy, and the bathroom cleanliness was below zero. The staff were extremely rude. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, not even my enemy.

We went in person after several calls to ask for an exception or compromise when a flight reschedule forced us to request a last-minute cancellation. The receptionist had hung up without offering a solution, and the front desk “manager” treated us horribly and called us all sorts of things. The person there was aggressive, condescending, and rude to female customers. I've never had such poor customer service or attitude toward guests. It ruined our vacation in beautiful Allepey. The recent terrible reviews seem to show what the hotel has become. There are much better hotels in the same price range in this beautiful city, so spend your money there.
