We were a family of five, and the host made the stay easy from the start. He lives downstairs and is warm, well mannered, and attentive to Indian guests and international travelers alike. We were initially placed in two buildings, but he moved us so we could all stay together. His family lives on the ground floor too, and they were lovely people. Our room was clean and tidy, with towels and housekeeping supplies replenished regularly. The housekeeping person checked and cleaned it before we arrived. You’ll need to bring your own toothbrushes, but mosquito repellent and other things are available on request. The hot water and AC were straightforward to use, though the host was happy to help if needed. The beach is only about 150 meters away, near a quieter stretch. There’s also a small dining place just outside the gate. The menu isn’t big, but the food was made with care, the service was great, and prices were reasonable. The people there were generous too. If you don’t need fancy dining, it’s an easy dinner option without ordering delivery. The host arranged a 3.5-hour boat trip for all of us at 3k and was available in the morning to help plan the day. He even earned a 20/10 from us. This is a homestay, not a hotel, so treat the home and its amenities with the same care the host shows you. Don’t be careless with the things provided or leave a big mess for housekeeping. We heard about other travelers having trouble with service and hosts nearby, so this felt like a safe, excellent-value stay.

The owner was very supportive, and the rooms and bathrooms were kept in good shape. There were enough rooms and just enough parking. The property sits beside a narrow, busy road, so getting in and out takes care and may call for assistance.

The owner even helped me get my hiking shoes repaired in town, and the hosts were excellent. My room was clean, and the breakfast was amazing. The backwaters trip they arranged seemed better value than some other tours: instead of turning back along the same route, ours took a longer loop so we saw more.

The host family made us feel very welcome during our two-night stay, and the rooms were spotless. We could walk to the beach and nearby cafes. They kindly prepared the authentic Kerala breakfast we asked for. It was very affordable too, and I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re in Alleppey.

Everything was very clean, and the place had what I needed: a small kitchen, balcony, AC, and a hot shower. It’s close to the sea, with plenty of places to eat nearby. I had a great stay.
