The way the staff speak to you isn’t good, and the hotel rent doesn’t seem consistent.
The place itself is good, and the owner was helpful, but the staff were weird and seemed unwilling to do their jobs. When I checked in, staff were cleaning the room, but food plates were still there. The Classic room was very dirty, so I had to upgrade to a deluxe room. Thanks to the OYO person who came and arranged the upgrade without extra charges. There were power cuts all day in the hotel area. When electricity came back at 8 pm, the AC kept cutting out because of low voltage, and the room wouldn’t cool. The power went again at 10:30 pm, so the AC didn’t work for the rest of the night. We ordered food from outside, but the hotel wouldn’t let us eat in the room and said we had to use their restaurant, even though there was no electricity.
Our trip was spoiled by this place. We paid 2800 for a room that didn’t feel worth even 500. We booked through OYO, and I was shocked to see this being run under the OYO name. It was one of the worst places I’ve stayed in, with completely unprofessional people who don’t seem to understand hotels. There was no room service or housekeeping. They wouldn’t let us bring food into the room because they said we might spill oil on the bedsheet. When I objected, they said we’d have to pay if oil got on it. OYO customer care sided with the hotel and said some hotels have rules like that. The breakfast was just a small serving of poha and tea in disposable plates and cups, despite us paying a good amount for it when booking. If you want a good time, don’t book here. OYO, please check what you’re offering customers. It’s barely more than a lodge.
Don’t assume the beach is walkable, it’s 4 km away. This might be okay for backpackers, but certainly not for families. I booked based on the reviews and regretted it as soon as I arrived. The place barely looks like a hotel, and the rooms are so tiny that with two people, one bed takes up all the space. The bathroom is just as cramped, with hardly room to shower. We had to change rooms three times because the so-called ACs made noise but didn’t cool. We spent the entire night without AC. They don’t serve water either. Breakfast is supposedly included in the room price, but it was just one plate of poha.
We paid 2300 per room, per day, for two deluxe rooms over two days, with complimentary breakfast. The rooms were good and clean, with AC and hot water, and the staff were helpful. There was nowhere to put luggage or dirty clothes except on the floor, as there’s no cupboard, table, or chair. Breakfast was just a small plate of Kanda Poha and a small tea, once. The breakfast and no-breakfast room rates differed by 600 rs, so you’d be better off eating breakfast elsewhere.
