Sarovar Portico Sonipat

The rooms were comfortable, the food was good, and the hospitality was solid. Staff were polite and attentive throughout my stay at Sarovar Portico Sonipat. I had an excellent experience and would gladly come back.

I chose this hotel because it was near my event venue, and its reviews looked better than the other options. But the stay needs a lot of improvement, and I wouldn't recommend this Sarovar Portico branch. The reception lady was slow to respond and seemed unconcerned about guest comfort or requests. I asked for a room with a good view and got one with no view. The TV remote didn't work; after I asked twice for someone to come, nobody showed up for two hours. The iron I requested didn't work either, and it wasn't replaced until the next morning, after I asked again. Housekeeping said they don't provide tissues in the room. The washroom mirror lighting was poor, and there was no hot water. After about five minutes, the water only got lukewarm. Breakfast was okay, apart from the coconut chutney, which tasted bitter and had no salt. When I asked reception to send a bellboy and prepare the bill, they still hadn't come after about 15 minutes, so I carried my luggage myself.

The rooms are roomy and kept in good shape, with modern comforts that work for a business trip or a break. The restaurant has a decent selection and the food seems hygienic. It is a little out of the way, though, and service may drag when it gets busy.

The food and ambience at the property are good, but I wouldn't trust it with the main event of my life. The staff were unresponsive and seemed careless about basic service. Requests got delayed or ignored unless I kept chasing them. You pay a lot and still have to follow up on everything. The experience didn't live up to the Sarovar Portico name, and it wasn't worth the cost or expectations.
