The staff are helpful and the hospitality is good. It’s one of the best hotels in almora. They also provide rental scooty and car booking service for trips to golu devta, kasar devi and nanda devi temple.

The rooftop has a lively feel, and the owner and staff were courteous and helpful. The place was clean. My room was a bit cramped.

A nice terrace lounge and tasty food from the inhouse dinning, served promptly. Good place to stay at this budget.

Mehra cottage is a very good affordable option for rooms. The cheapest ones are ₹800-900, and the most expensive are ₹1500-1600. The room was in very good condition, with a geyser, Western seat, and all the things you need. I visited on a weekday, 10 feb 2026, so they charged me 800₹ for a 900₹ room, a 100₹ discount. If you’re in Almora and want a cheap room, visit once. They also have a hut on the roof with special arrangements for guests, plus an excellent view at night.
