We booked one room for three adults through the MMT website and paid the extra charge for the third person, but there was no extra bed. When we asked for a separate bed and offered to pay separately, the staff offered only a small coir mattress and wanted Rs 200 extra per night. We declined because of safety, hygiene, and health concerns. They asked us to leave an ID as security for the extra bedding and returned it when we demanded it at checkout, even though we hadn't taken the bedding. The hotel manager came to us after an MMT executive contacted the hotel. The manager asked about curtains and the shower, though we'd reported a different issue to the executive. The tone was loud and dominating, not friendly. The MMT executive had attended to me properly. Staff behavior was rude and not customer friendly. The centre table was dusty and stayed that way even after I reported it verbally to both the MMT advisor and hotel staff. They gave us two Aquafina bottles, but they weren't sealed. The kitchen and restaurant were closed, according to the lobby staff, so we had to get all our food outside the hotel. The closest place we could find was nearly 200 meters away on foot, with very limited menu options. You can enjoy the view only from the common aisle. Don't rely on the location shown on the map. By cab, it's nearly 2km from Almora main bus stand. There's a walking shortcut, but it's a steep trekking route of nearly 500 meter. Once you start toward the bus stand that way, you'll regret it. Please use your discretion before booking. We don't want anyone else to suffer the way we did, so we're giving it 1 star only because we couldn't rate below 1.
