The Dhawala Resort

I’d been worried by some tourists’ low ratings, but my two-day family staycation turned out to be marvelous. The location was wonderful, the property looked more beautiful than the nearby hotels and resorts, and the team was enthusiastic and helpful. We enjoyed very good breakfast and dinner. Try the LAAL MAS, one of their signature non-veg dishes, and the Rajasthani daal bhati churma, which is also among their best. In the evening they set up a music system in the park, and both the kids and couples enjoyed it.

We checked in on 14th feb with my wife and kids, and paid 8500 for one day. I was very unhappy with the experience. The food was laid out in the open as if we were at someone’s wedding, and they charged 370 for three cups of high tea with parle g biscuits. Even after asking repeatedly, the rooms weren’t cleaned properly. The kettle in the room was stiggng, and the phone didn’t work properly.

The rooms were nice, and there was a good open space where the children could play, though there weren’t many activities. Breakfast and dinner from the buffet were always cold, and service was slow: any order took around 45mins to 1 hr. They should add more children’s entertainment options too, since there were no kids’ channels and the TV only had free dish tv. Airtel mobile reception was poor, though I can’t say how other networks were.

The food portions were decent and the taste was okay, but the service was horrible. Getting a meal took more than an hour, and even on day 2, when things were a little better, staff struggled to follow instructions or timing. We asked for a bonfire at a particular time and it wasn’t done, and dinner service had the same issue. Reaching the place was also a nightmare because road work covered a 5 km stretch. This was during the last week of Dec. The rooms are a nice size.
