Hotel La casa Amritsar

The area around the hotel was filthy, noisy, chaotic, and stressful, with little to redeem it. The place also fell short on basic cleanliness, comfort, honesty, and service. The photos online gave a misleading impression. Our room was dirty and neglected, and the sheets and bedding were marked and not fit to be used for paying guests. Staff were rude, lazy, and dismissive. There was just one towel for the two of us, and when we asked for another, they said no without explaining or trying to help. The advertised amenities weren't there as promised. There was no Wi-Fi, the air-conditioning remote was missing from the room, and the swimming pool listed on Booking.com was empty and unusable. That's more than a small inconvenience, it felt like false advertising. This was one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. It feels like a bait-and-switch, and travelers need to warn one another.

The room was comfortable, with a very comfortable mattress, plenty of daylight, and a view of the surroundings and flyover. It was soundproof, the A/C and fan worked well, and there was plenty of hot water. The closet had enough space for two people to unpack, though there was only one seat and a small coffee table. Wi-Fi was quite poor, so watching a movie wasn't possible. The room also hadn't been cleaned or dusted before we arrived. We asked the staff to take care of it while we went for a meal, and they did a good job. They would change the bottom sheet, but for some unknown reason not the duvet cover. The kitchen was closed for seating, but we could order from the menu in our room through room service. Staff had difficulty understanding English, so one of the people in charge gave us his WA number for food orders. The elevator was dirty and out of order on our last day, and it didn't look like it would be fixed or cleaned soon. Reception could also be friendlier and more welcoming. For its price range, La Casa is better than most Indian hotels we've seen, with comfortable rooms at a great price. Hygiene and friendliness could still improve.

At Hotel La Casa, Amritsar, the staff offered no cooperation, and the rooms had a strange, unpleasant smell. The AC wasn't working properly, and there was no geyser or hot water for bathing, just cold water. The bathrooms were filthy and so cramped it was hard to sit properly. The bedsheets were extremely dirty, and staff refused to replace them. We had been told the swimming pool would be available, but it was empty. They later said it was up to them whether to keep it filled or empty. How is anyone meant to swim without water? I'd strongly advise people against booking here online in the future.

The rooms smelled bad and had no proper ventilation, and the ones we got were completely different from the photos online. The staff were very rude too. When I arrived, I saw another family already arguing with them. One of the worst hotels and service I've experienced. I would never recommend staying here.
