The one tall guy on staff was polite and helpful, but that was about the only bright spot in a very disappointing stay. We checked in at 9 pm for business work at Teg Royal and didn’t get drinking water until around 10 am the next day. They said it was chargeable. We had to ask for everything, even towels and soap. The rooms were in very poor condition, with bad linen, seepage, and a foul smell. One sardar ji was very rude and started shouting for no reason, asking if I had ever stayed in a hotel before. That behavior was totally unprofessional. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had in Amritsar. If I could give a minus rating, I would.

Wi-Fi, room service, and parking were all well managed. The room was comfortable, hygienic, and kept in good condition, and the staff were courteous and helpful throughout my stay. I had an excellent experience here.

What stayed with me most was how welcoming the staff were. After midnight, I found the mattress a bit too soft for me, so they promptly offered another room with a slightly firmer one. They even let me keep both rooms until late in the morning, so I didn’t have to rush to move my things. I really enjoyed the stay. The hotel is unassuming but charming, and centrally placed in Amritsar, just a couple of minutes by car from The Golden Temple, Novelty, and the mall. The rooms were neat and well maintained, and the prices seemed in line with what they offer.

The receptionist said I’d get a deluxe room, but I ended up in the smallest one, with a dirty, stained bedsheet, a broken geyser, and worn-out furniture. The ambience and service were bad too. Worst experience ever.
